Whats in my wallet?

If you were to peek inside my purse right now you would find a whole mess of things. There are four pockets all together so there is room for an abundance of items. You will know right of the bat, I am not that organized, I have things tossed about and scattered all over the place. There are papers that are crumbled and keys that are lost. One thing you would find out about me is that I love God, and I love my church. My Bible and my notebook are with me always, along with all of the announcement papers I get when I go to church. Something people might assume about me is that I am very social, I have a few invitations to friends parties, along with lots of pictures of my friends and me.

Something that you might not pick up from looking through my purse, is that I am very sarcastic. I love to have fun, and part of that is messing with peoples heads. I have been told I have a very good poker face, and it is very hard to read me, and if you know me at all, i take that to my full advantage.

For one my purse is very big, so that in itself tells you that I’m a hoarder, or at least that’s what I think when I see people with lugging big purses around. Do us girls really need everything that’s in our bags? Let me in on a secret, NO! There are four pockets all together so there is room for an abundance of items. Something that you might not pick up from looking through my purse, is that I am very sarcastic, and now that I think about it, how can you tell that from looking at ones personal items? I love to have fun, and part of that is messing with people’s heads. I have been told I have a very good poker face, and it is very hard to tell when I am being real and honest, or just trying to pull a prank and see if I am believable. And if you know me at all, I take having a good poker face to my full advantage.

Second look

   This was from my “What’s in my wallet” blog post. Along with plenty of spelling and grammar issues, I looked over the whole thing and realized how scatter brained I must have been while writing this. So instead of explaining everything so fast, I slowed it down, and went in depth a little more with what I was trying to get across, and explaining what was actually in my wallet. When I get going on something, it is sometimes hard for me to see that I am not making sense half the time, or leave things very vague. I know there are plenty of assignments that I could look over and edit, but for this assignment I could only choose one.

Self-confidence

The first thing I notice about someone else is his or her self-confidence. No matter how grand or how small it may be, it speaks the loudest to me. Sometimes it is hard to detect, you could see from yards away how much confidence, or lack of confidence they have, or it might take a conversation to be able to tell. Your self-confidence really tells the people around you how you view yourself, and what your self-identity is.

For example, you are at a friends house, at a restaurant, or out at the mall, and there is that one loud person telling all the stories and making big movements, THAT is a person with a lot of self confidence. Why else would the try and draw so much attention to themselves? Because they are confident enough to know they can handle the attention. Now don't get me wrong, I am not saying outgoing people are self centered and want all of the attention, I have no problem with people like this because it makes for good entertainment, I am just saying that they are confident in themselves to be in front of people and let their place be known. And on the other hand there are some people with low self-confidence who are off to the side, not even knowing if they should laugh at the jokes being told, or know how to respond when asked a simple question. They are very timid and to themselves, and aren’t comfortable expressing a lot of emotion in front of a large crowd.

Now these are the two extremes, but you guys get my point. This is what I see first in people, it is neither negative nor positive, just my first impression upon meeting someone, or of someone just passing by.

The sound of my own voice

The assignment I chose for this was from a disscusion board in the “Identity” part of this class. I think that this was a very debatable topic that I chose to write about, self-confidence. I got lots of feedback from this post, some agreeing and some disagreeing on my viewpoint on it. I think it shows my voice a lot, mainly because I believe it. I understood what I was writing about and it wasn’t forced, these are my exact thoughts put into writing, which I believe to be one of my strengths as a writer.

It also has a lot of audience awareness, since it was a DB I was trying to make the writing a little more personal then just writing an essay, I put out lots of examples and situations. And I believe that self-confidence is something anyone can relate to, whether they have low or high self-confidence.

Embrace or Attack

Should we embrace or attack traditions, should we embrace or attack changes, neither. Tradition as to do a lot with our moral standing, I know not everything, but for major traditions some times it does, so in that case. Does the change in the world go against your moral standing? Yes? Then don't attack, just choose to know that others have different views and different ways of living. Some people are gung ho about changing the ways of the world, and others are locked down on keeping every tradition of the past alive. One thing I see most around my house is tattoos. My brother and his wife both have several, now tattoos are a big hot new trend. They have been around a while, and this up and coming generation isn't the only one out there to have them, BUT they are the most voiced about it, and are taking it up a notch. My father is not for this new trend, but didn't reject the idea of my brother going out and getting what he wanted done. A case of agree to disagree and do what you think is good for you. My dad did not attack my brother, question his moral standing, or sit him down and talk with him and say what he did was bad. He realized that his son and himself have different views, and that he is old enough to make that decision for himself.

Personal Preference

 For my writers choice I chose another DB post. This was from out last section of the class, “Tradition”. I am from a Christian family and with the Christianity comes a lot of traditions, and a very widely known stereotypical view point that everyone thinks every Christian has. So in this post I explain that to be a Christian you don’t have to fit a mold, or have the same view on the world as every other Christian out there. With every generation there comes new trends and new acceptances, and being in the new generation like being a Christian you don’t have to have the same opinion as everyone else. I feel very strongly about, and writings like this are my favorite to write, or just even talk about. So I chose it because it explains a lot about how I live and how I think.
